ive said it before and I will say it again. more then any other reason, this is why I hat easy coast racing. firt time starters and their workout info. I these fucing training center bullshit workouts. I complained about this before and someone told me I was crazy (gee I wonder who) and that there were only 1 or 2 places and asked me to name them. well I cant remember all of them but I have counted at least 7 in the last 2 weeks of playing gulfstream where horses have worked at non racetracks. PAY, PRM, OEC, PBD, ETC. PBD? wtf is that, peanut butter downs? and then horses who only show up to 4f works with 2 and 3 week gaps winning first time out in route races? im not saying this one did that, but a lot of them do, so what do you do? its a F*ing joke you know they are hiding works and not reporting them at these off the wall rinky dink facilities. its ridiculous. one more reason why the east coast sucks!! That was me, and I believe the discussion was about the Northeast, not the entire east coast. Had it been the east coast I would never have claimed that there weren't many (and I didn't use the word "crazy") Lots of the best horses in the east spend their winters in Camden, Aiken, or Ocala. I think what I said at the time was that just about all of the training center workouts that I've ever seen in the northeast were at the Fair Hill training center in Maryland. There's a complete list of training centers on Equibase ( www.equibase.com/tracks/training.cfm ) There are lots of them in the southeast, particularly the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida. Equibase lists 212, and more than half of them are in NC, SC, GA, and FL - 91 in Florida alone. All of those that you listed are in Florida except PRM, which is Prairie Meadows Race Track in Iowa. By the time those horses make their way up north, they'll put in a number of new workouts and all those bizarre workouts will be dated and eventually fall off the page. As far as the Gulfstream card today, the Sunday cards at both Calder and Gulfstream have been horrible since they've been running head to head. They'll only get worse as the big outfits pack up and move north.

Maybe so, but I remember discussing it too back in the late summer or early fall. My position at that time was what I said, there really aren't too many of those training centers up in the northeast. There are a shit-load in Florida, maybe a half dozen in Maryland, a couple in Delaware and some in New Jersey. But very few are recognized for "official" workouts and not many trainers work their horses at those places. Again, the only one I remember seeing is Fair Hill.

well all I know is when horses show up with 2 works going a nile and a sixteenth and neither were past 4 furlongs off of a year layoff, or first timers with 3 and 4 week gaps in the works, someone is missing something somewhere.

I actually haven't been playing very much this week. I've found Aqueduct, my long time staple, virtually un-bettable the last few of weeks. The races I've bet at Gulfstream wouldn't qualify as "best bet" caliber. Hopefully with the main track at Aqueduct opening tomorrow there will be more entries and better races. But only four weeks until Belmont opens!

I said I another thread that between Jacobson and Rodriguez having three or four entries in half the races and them cycling between the Ortiz brothers, Taylor Rice, and Cornelio Velasquez, I can't make any sense of those races. Most of the remaining races are maidens (Jacobson and Rodriguez are claiming trainers with very few maidens) so that leaves very very few races to bet. I wound up watching all the races on Saturday and Sunday and couldn't find one to bet. On Monday I bet two races all day. Boring!

all I can say is I wouldn't bet the races at aqueduct if you posted the bankroll for me. but its not like there aren't other tracks to play. if you want to limit yourself to one shithole track, then I guess you get what you get.

How about I put a sawbuck on a horse for you this afternoon?
This has been the worst inner track season I've seen and have had since they built that track back around 1975. Maybe it was the severe winter - colder than usual and frequent nuisance snowstorms - we really haven't had any big storms, just lots of small ones. As to that the Jacobson/Rodriguez factor and it's been horrible.
Thankfully better horses will be on their way up north pretty soon and those cheap claiming trainers will find less opportunity to run. I wouldn't be surprised if they send some of their horses to Monmouth and Parx once we move to Belmont Park.

I thought you were pretty quiet the last couple of days! I was on Clindamycin last month after some oral surgery. My esophagus is still burning (as is something else!!) from that. As they advise, don't lay down until at least 10 minutes after you take it - apparently it's murder on the system from the throat down to the stomach. Take it easy.
(btw, for the youngsters out there a sawbuck is ten dollars)

Do you mean Friday?
There's a rumor going around Hot Springs that on Friday there will be a big protest demonstration against "fraccing".
