Two things -
First, I didn't get time last night to summarize yesterday's bets and the running total.
Second, tonight:
Charles Town Race 1 #1 Mammy's Gold
The morning line is 8-5, may be lower. Easily the speed of the speed in this race, which is what wins the majority of 4-1/2F races at Charles Town. She's been running in open and state-bred NW1X allowance races, this is the lowest level ever ($5,000). Switches from a low % jockey to J. D. Acosta.

Mammy's Gold won easily, that's all I'm going to say! Look for the summaries later tonight.

Well - yes George but 3 winners and +$5.40? No TY LOL Betting $8 and showing $5.40? No TY! That's not the point (see my first post in the discussion) The intention is to have handicappers give other people here their rationale for picking a particular horse. It's not a "contest" to pick longshots or to have the highest profit. Even so, a 165% ROI isn't bad, I think most handicappers would love to do that!

Wednesday Gulfstream Park Race 6 Horse #2 Confrontation
This is his first start since October, but his three races last year were all very good. He's been working regularly (six workouts since the end of January) and worked five furlongs only six days ago.
He was ready to run in his first race last August, hopefully he'll be ready today. He's currently at 5-2, hopefully late money will drive him up when the five gets bet. I've also played a 2-3-5 exacta box.

gulfstream race 9 #10 littlemissperfect
definitely not what I would call a best bet, but rather a good play. lined at 20/1, its the same move ian wilkes pulled last weekend with a 63 dollar winner. ran once at ellis, was troubled, showed late run, laid up and comes back with a good workout pattern against an average at best field. not crazy about the trainer, but then again I wasn't crazy about ian wilkes either. its a crappy card and I don't like much else except for another longshot in the last race.

Was the longshot you were looking at the 10 horse? I hope so.

yes George it was. unfortunately I didn't use the 8 anywhere so I missed everything, and then didn't even bet him straight. I invested 160 in the race and got back nothing for it. what pisses me off is I bet 40 wp on the 10 the race before and nothing on this one.
I did have him in the pick 3 and pick 5 though, twice each. I singled social intrusion on both tickets and also had Bernie the jet at 10-1 in the 7th. if he hangs on over the #! then I make a nice score. as it was I made some, but still feel like I underachieved.

Hope I get this one in on time...3 MTP
Aqueduct Race 3 #3 Stage Name
In the first two races speed has ruled. This horse is the only true speed of the four horses, has the best figures and even though she's won two of four races, they're putting blinkers on - generally a positive sign.
Best yet - she's NOT the favorite, but second choice.

I should have held off on my pick, seems the jockeys saw the same thing as I did. Two normally closing horses went to the lead with Stage Name (the 1 horse after missing the break rushed up for the lead). Turns out the only rider who didn't get into the three-way battle for the lead was the ultimate winner, who closed from fourth.
So much for speed ruling!

So, in the two races after my ill-fated "speedball" BB, speed has folded and closers have won. Guess there's no bias at Aqueduct today except for the "east coast" one?

Friday gulfstream
like this card, but have a lot of different horses im looking to play. like Wednesday, I will probably pick the wrong one, but here goes..............
race 7
#1 making havoc
just blitzed easier in first start for new barn and earned a bi number while doing it. has plenty of speed but doesn't need the lead to win and I think she will sttle in right behind the #2 and #5, who dueled last time and wil probably do so again. is improving and should get the right trip.

Thanks for Making Havoc in the 7th. You read the race exactly like it was run. The horse got bet pretty heavily at the end - 3 MTP it was 6-1, 9-2 going into the gate, and wound up at 7-2. And I hope you had that 5 horse in the 8th in your picks (and also hope you DIDN'T have the 2 horse that got disqualified!!!!)
Like the 10 horse in the last race at Gulfstream the other day, Making Havoc got me ahead for the day. For the last week or so I seem to go in the hole early every day but dig myself out at the end. Works out okay, but I'd rather be playing the late races while ahead.
I think that makes you 4 for 6 in these "best bets". Nice.
