Arlington’s International Festival Of Racing

Arlington’s International Festival Of RacingTwo Breeders' Cup berths are on the line this Saturday at Arlington Park during its International Festival of Racing. The first is the Grade 1 Beverly D. Handicap, which offers the winner a spot in the starting gate for the Filly & Mare Turf, and the other is the G1 Arlington Million, offering a spot in the Longines Turf.
The Arlington Million and Beverly D will also be featured on an NBC Sports broadcast, and Fox Sports will feature a broadcast of Saratoga's Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap, the Arlington Million and, on Sunday, Saratoga's G2 Saratoga Special.
The G1 Secretariat at Arlington is led by the Brian Lynch-trained Oscar Performance, but the Mark Johnston-trained Permian is a dual Group 2 winner overseas and is the most legitimate threat. The Beverly D. features Argentine-bred Dona Bruja in a very competitive field, and the Arlington Million is led by last year's Belmont Derby winner Deauville.
Saratoga's Fourstardave features Time Test for trainer Chad Brown, but world record-holding sprinter Disco Partner will stretch out to a mile and could be a major threat if he handles the distance. The G2 Best Pal Stakes features Kaleem Shah's Run Away against Baffert trainee Serengeti, and trainer Wesley Ward also ships in juvenile Arawak.
Sunday's G2 Saratoga Special is led by Steve Asmussen trainee Copper Bullet; trainer Todd Pletcher's two entrants are 12-1 and 15-1 on the morning line.
