I'm sure I will because it is wide open and will offer great value on whoever you like. but if you just want a winner, all you have to do is wake up about 25 hrs earlier and bet the oaks, because I haven't seen a filly move like paradise wood since Rachel was a 3 yr. old. I haven't said anything this year because no one has brought it up. but if there ever was a year to bet a filly in the derby it would be this one. I am almost always against it, but this would be the year. at first I thought it would be unique bella filling the role of the filly that could have, but she got hurt unfortunately. but as soon as she goes down, up pops this girl. too bad bella didn't get to make the race Saturday because that would have been epic. I know songbird was dominant last year, but she really had no real competition in her division and was smart to stay within it because her times and numbers just weren't really good enough to take on the boys. I liked her and think she will be very hard to beat when she returns as an older mare. but both bella and now paradise appear better to me. I haven't seen anyone anywhere that will touch bella off of her race Saturday unless something goes wrong. unlike many others on here, I don't go out of my way to make an ass out of myself by touting horses everyday, posting about imaginary bets and bankrolls, and trying to convince others I have an opinion on a race when I have no clue. but you can put me down on record for this one. paradise is a cinch in the oaks!!

the title was actually a good one, then you had to make snide comments directed at me. you appear to have anger issues or low self esteem. I am not here to constantly argue with anyone, unlike yourself. a very well respected handicapper doesn't ever play the derby, so your title was good but your twisted mind screwed it up.
just two side notes 1-no horse is ever a cinch 2-I never have told anyone to wager on a horse I play, never. about my bets and bankroll sir you're mistaken. I have an opinion on every race just as you have with paradise.

directed at you? sounds like someone on here has some issues. do you think you are the only I know of? no you are one of a few. the only difference is you are the most obvious. anyone who rules out playing the derby completely is just as big an idiot as someone who thinks they have to play it or someone thinking they need to keep updating who they like 3 months before the race. wait til the race, handicap it, and either bet or don't bet. that's pretty simple, even for you.
yes you have an opinion on everything it appears. unfortunately it is just a bad one.

Mr QH my only issue currently is you and you're a minuscule one at that. even when redhawk was here I ignored them you at times are lucid but most the times are confrontational. now back to horse chatter, the derby is just one race out of 100's of thousands per year. I'd never criticize anyone for passing said race or anyone else. as of now 60% (3 out of 5) of my horses I discussed three months ago could enter the starting gate, so if you choose to discuss horses I'm fine with that. if you want to make snide or lewd comments then I'll just pass on them. get yourself help soon.

I agree with Wiz on this point. 1. This years race is wide open and you are sure to get a good price even on the favorite.
I will also say there will and always has been dead money or dumb money or whatever you wish to call it in the pools on derby day. Whether it comes from the drunks in the infield or just novice players or people who bet colors or numbers and that money further enhances the payouts on derby day.

Mr Nose there is dead money everyday at every racetrack. just sit back and chart, you'll find it. I find the most value derby day is with rolling daily doubles and pick threes.

JB you are correct but not in the amounts on derby day where a favorite should be 2-1 or 5/2 suddenly he is 4-1 or 9/2 and that is what is going to happen to the derby unless Classic Empire wins the Arkansas by 30. I will make this prediction- The Derby favorite will be 9/2 or 5-1.
