@drfformulator: Horses claimed from Baffert are 57-4-12-6 with a $0.48 ROI last 5 yrs in 1st start with new barn. 26-1-5-3 when not in for a tag.

definately believable. thats why you dont claim off of successful trainers. you cant improve on what they have done.

and that my friend is definately a useful fact. some of the other things you have posted dont mean much as far as im concerned, but trainer changes are one of the biggest handicapping factors in racing. problem is some people use this valueable information in completely the wrong way. basically completely backwards of what it should be. that is when it is laughable.

Wiz - What do you think are the most important things re a trainer change? Do you know does Bob claim many horses? What are the stats on the ones he does claim?

i dont think he claims many at all any more. he just doesnt need to be bothered it with it and now that he has more high dollar owners, they arent really into claiming. he might take a handful a year but i would think thats about it. i have no idead what those stats are, but like i said, i know he is a trainer that when someone else claims off of him, i almost always bet against.
