listen to durkin's call of the 8th at Belmont. he is horrible, and all the nonsense in the world about his retiring wont change that.

wiz, they went the first three quarters in 1.10.55, the next quarter was 26.4, it was a crappy field. And even though tired he was able to outrun the rest of the rats.
At least Durking didn't claim that the others would have to sprout wings to beat him.

see this is the thing. if you don't like trevor because of his accent or his sayings, that is a personal preference. I do. but with durkin it is the fact thjat he has gone down hill. not that I ever liked him much, but at least he was decent once. he stinks now. and say what you will about trevor, but he can call a race and you know exactly what is happening and where your horse is at all times. listening to durkin call that race with no video, you would have thought he was in front by a half length and getting caught.
he's horrible.

Remember, right after he said he was "leg weary" he added that the horse that looked like it might catch the leader was also "leg weary".
Yes, he's gone downhill in the last year or two, but he's still one of the best, better than Collmus (who has turned out to be a big disappointment in the big races)
Unfortunately the new class of race callers are nothing like the older ones, I think they embellish and "sign" way too much.
