All these NY Winter Racing fans and no one utters a peep on them starting to race on Monday...
What do you think their handle will be??
Does anyone even care??
I'm most interested in how the PARX handle does.
Pres, only drinking Cherry Seltzer and Lays Potato Chips with Onion Dip

can I ask why? what would be the reasoning behind it? do they have an over abundance of horses that I don't know about? its idiotic.
the only reasonable reason I can think of would be if they are required to race a certain number of days per meeting or they lose eligibility for the same days next year? with all of their cancellations maybe they have to race the extra days to make up for it?

No extra days involved. They are dark Tues and Wed so still a 5 day week.

Here's the original announcement.
Monday will be the new Wednesday at Aqueduct.
Beginning Jan. 13 and lasting 11 weeks through the end of March, Aqueduct will conduct live racing on Mondays and be dark Wednesdays. In January and March, Aqueduct will maintain a five-day race week – Thursdays through Mondays – while in February it will race four days a week – Fridays through Mondays. It is expected that in April Aqueduct will resume its normal Wednesday through Sunday racing schedule – save for April 13 (Palm Sunday) and April 20 (Easter Sunday), when the track must be closed by law.

Maybe:
Sir Andy has ordered it can only snow on Tues/Wed?
Puppet Kay wants fans to expeience motels near Aqueduct so they will relish what's on the agenda. (Of course, the future hotel won't be hosting those fans because there will be no track)
All the leftover food prepared for the fans that no longer attend can't be saved until Wed?
The casino needs more Monday patrons? (That's the only place to find decent restrooms!)

One more comment on this AQU did make their post time to 12:25 which was ALWAYS PARX'S 1st race post time. A real bullshit move by an alleged Class A track.
But I see now PARX has added 5 minutes to their 1st post today. PARX has class, NYRA doesn't

As posted in my comparison thread the numbers for Monday were fair at best compared to the last 5 Wednesdays
On Track : 676,188 Inter Track Wagering: $ 4,120,181
Compared to the last 5 Wednesdays it is the 2nd WORSE day of on track handle.....
