I've been saying that for years. Too expensive to race out there and too far from other major racing centers for anyone to ship out there for purses equivalent to or even less than connections can find at home. Why would anyone ship thousands of miles for a $100K "Grade 3" race when they can stay home and race in a $90K allowance race?

not arguing those facts, yet ca. horses dominate wherever they go? can you explain that?

They have to travel to find a race worth running in, it's not quite "dominant" wherever they go, but they do very well. I guess the question is, why can't they find a race to run in at home?
But the good thing is that the best races in the country are here, regardless of who wins.
