Will this work? I don't know - the MA casinos are strong. Maybe Stronach can also build a mall!
Ritvo: The Stronach Group Considering Possible New England Track

Although discussions are admittedly in the “very early” stages, there are indications that The Stronach Group is considering building a racetrack in New England.
“We think Boston is a good market and we don't want it to go away. We're in preliminary talks with George Carney, but it's very early,” Tim Ritvo, The Stronach Group's chief operating officer told the BloodHorse in a recent interview.
George Carney owns Raynham Park, a former Greyhound track located in southeastern Massachusetts. The location currently just hosts simulcasting, since dog racing was outlawed in 2010.
Bill Lagorio, president of the Massachusetts Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (MTHA), confirmed to the BloodHorse that Ritvo and Carney had spoken earlier this week. The MTHA teamed with the Carney family last year in trying to secure a license to hold Thoroughbred racing at Brockton Fairgrounds, which is also owned by the Carneys. The license wasn't approved.
“I spoke to Timmy and he said they talked on Monday, and the talks went very well. We'll take it from there,” Lagorio said.
If the groups decide to go ahead on the project, they will face a considerable amount of work that will need to be done. According to the BloodHorse, while Raynham Park has a “fully functional” clubhouse, the dog track only measures a quarter-mile. Additionally, there is “no stable area, no support facilities or living quarters, and no turf course.”
Lagorio indicated, though, that he believed the track could be ready to host a full race meet in 2018.
“There could be some temporary barns to get things going, and maybe there could be a temporary grandstand,” Lagorio said. “This is a group that could snap its fingers and have 100 pieces of equipment operating by September.”
