The questions are being asked and many will have an opinion, but the only one that can be answered with distinction is that Winx is far superior to anything that is currently racing in Australia. Possibly the world but until she travels overseas we can't be definitive.
Comparisons to the past are hard to ignore. Her record says she deserves to held in the highest regard. That's now 17 straight after her win in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Her Group 1 tally sits at 12 and will only continue to grow.
She is simply too good. The rest can keep trying but they just aren't capable of matching her power.
They can't match her determination, they can't match her speed. She has it all.
Royal Randwick has been the scene of many memorable moments and Winx's dominance in the Queen Elizabeth will join the long list.
The winning margin over Hartnell was five-and-a-quarter lengths; Sense Of Occasion was a further neck away in third.
But this moment was all about Winx, her unflappable jockey Hugh Bowman and her master trainer Chris Waller.
"She is just so dominant," said Bowman.
“There wasn’t a lot of pace on paper. I wouldn’t say it was a high pressure race today. Everyone found their spot and even slowed it up mid-race and it was a bit of a sprint home.
“I don’t think you see the best of her when it is that sort of race. I mean she is obviously still good, she wheeled passed them at the top of the straight and she still let down.
