Dunno for sure what the best way to bet the Pegagus today is but I do feel like Arrogate despite the noise of a potential injury is the one to beat... I'm going to be playing a cold exacta with Arrogate on top and Breaking Lucky underneath and I hoping that a troubled first turn creates a situation where California Chrome gets beat by Breaking Lucky before the line. Some sites are offering a money back guarantee if your horse finishes 2nd or 3rd, so it may be a great opportunity to load up on the Clark Handicap runner-ups (Shaman Ghost who had a bumped start) to win and pray pray pray.
Who do you all like?

I dom't like any of them in this race except keen ice who needs longer! think arrogate's fine but rumor started (also whining about post position!) because baffert might be wary of a stronach environment and may not want to "use his brew" lol arrogate is a very nice horse - should beat these but as chrome has earned respect would like to see him go out in a blaze of glory
ya know tw, shamans ghost may be a play but wouldn't it be hilarious if the house horse won?

keen ice is a total rat who is still eligible for nw2x races. he is a stinking plodder who just hit the lotto in the American pharaoh race 2 years ago and has never repeated it. plus he has no speed and doesn't even get his preferred distance. that horse has zero things going for him in this race and on top of all that will probably be an underplayed 3rd choice in the race. id like to take all of that action I could get my hands on. I'm not usually a chalk player but I truthfully cant see anyone in this field getting within 10 lengths of the top two. especially not the horses most people are giving a chance. I give stronach credit for doing this race and think it will be a success both handle wise and attendance and it will be a great building block for things in the future. BUT I have to say this is a horrible field for a 12 million dollar race. outside of the top two these are not very good horses. there are a few, like Neolithic, who haven't proven they are average at best, but for the most part these horses don't deserve to be in this race. when horses like prayer for a painless death and war envoy are allowed to compete in a race of this magnitude, it just makes it look bad. they don't need that kind of publicity for a race like this. what happens if one of those horses snaps it off on national television? then the whole point of this race gets shot to shit. if I had to pick a third horse it would either be Neolithic, noble bird, or war story, only because he is in his top form and all three of those should be relatively close early. but I don't see any of them being a threat to the top two. between them? I have to go with arrogate. I have heard nothing of him being sore, but I do admit baffert does not like gulfstream for some reason. but he beat chrome last time on the square when chrome had everything his own way. not sure if that 3-4 wide trip that chrome likes to run in is going to work out very well for him today whil arrogate is saving ground all the way right inside of him. if chrome beats arrogate I think arrogate will either have to have a troubled trip or just not run his race. but you cant figure that beforehand.
