Under the partnership, the Baltimore company will make apparel “for jockeys, trainers and members of Team Godolphin as they train and compete in the UK, Ireland, Australia, the United States, France and Dubai,” Godolphin said in a joint news release with Under Armour. The apparel includes includes an Under Armour jacket “developed by and tailored for Godolphin, with unique features designed to give jockeys the best range of movement while riding,” the release said. Under Armour called Godolphin “one of the most successful international racing stables.” “We look forward to the many synergies we can create between our brands in the years to come,” said Peter Murray, Under Armour vice president of global sports marketing. Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank is invested personally in horse racing. He acquired the historic Sagamore Farm training facility in Baltimore County and hopes to eventually train a Kentuck Derby and Preakness winner.
