I don't want to make light of this disturbing study - but - guess it shows males are more "hard headed" - We girls already knew that! Female Jockeys Four Times As Likely To Experience Concussion Paulick Report The Injured Jockeys Fund has released several figures from a study which suggest that female riders are four times as likely to have experienced concussion as their male counterparts. The IJF is encouraging female jockeys to participate in the research, according to dailymail.co.uk. “It is such an important subject,” said IJF chief executive Lisa Hancock, who experienced several concussions herself during her riding career. “So many of our jockeys, whether they are still riding or retired, have suffered concussion some time in their lives and often more than once.” The study itself is designed to examine the links between concussions and degenerative brain diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. I just saw this post.
what it shows, in all seriousness, is that numbers don't lie. what does it tell you if women are four times more likely to get concussions? how about they are 4 times more likely to be in accidents? that is the only common sense answer to derive from this. there have been some very good female jockeys, and even one great one. and there are exceptions to every rule. but for the most part, as with every sport that physical strength is an essential part, women cant compete with men. you can cry all the womens lib shit you want and call me sexist for speaking the truth and not bowing to political correctness, but that is the truth.
