I remember seeing him. I also have liked some of his "kids", especially La Verdad. RIP dear boy
Three Chimneys Stallion Yes It’s True Euthanized At 19 PR
Three Chimneys' 19 year old stallion, Yes It's True was euthanized November 23rd at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute after he showed signs of colic and was later diagnosed with a perforated intestine. After emergency surgery proved unsuccessful, the decision was made to euthanize.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Yes It's True” said Three Chimneys Chairman Goncalo Torrealba. “He was a cornerstone of success for the many breeders that supported him and a wonderful horse to be around.”
Yes It's True was purchased by Satish Sanan's Padua Stables at the Barretts' March Two Year Old Sale in 1998 for $800,000 and went on to win four stakes at 2 including the G3 Sapling S. and G3 Hollywood Juvenile Championship and was 2nd in the G1 Futurity S. As a three year old Yes It's True won 6 stakes including the G1 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash. At the conclusion of his racing career he retired to Padua Farm in Florida until he was moved to Three Chimneys in late 2004. Yes It's True averaged over $5 million in progeny earnings every year since his first crop hit the track. He bred 117 mares in 2015 and was represented this year by Grade 1 winner The Big Beast and Millionaire La Verdad who most recently ran a very game 2nd in the G1 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
Yes It's True has been buried at Three Chimneys.
