Frac Daddy to Stand at Park Stud in Ontario
Bloodhorse
Frac Daddy , a front-running winner of the Eclipse Stakes (Can-II) at Woodbine and Ben Ali Stakes (gr. III) at Keeneland, will stand the upcoming breeding season at Michael and Laurel Byrne's Park Stud in Ontario, Canada.
Frac Daddy, by Scat Daddy , will have an advertised fee of $4,000 in 2016.
The 5-year-old out of the Skip Away mare Skipper's Mate was bred in Kentucky by the Nancy M. Leonard Living Trust. He raced for Magic City Thoroughbred Partners and was trained by Ken McPeek, who was also involved with leading sires Curlin and Harlan's Holiday.
"Frac Daddy was an elite racehorse with exceptional speed; his average win margin of almost five lengths showed his brilliance. He's an exceptional looking individual with form on synthetic, turf, and dirt," Mike Byrne said. "We are thrilled at the opportunity and believe breeders will love him. As with all of our stallions, he will be heavily supported by the farm."
After breaking his maiden as a 2-year-old by 5 3/4 lengths at Churchill Downs, Frac Daddy was beaten a neck by Canada's 2012 Horse of the Year Uncaptured in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II). In his 3-year-old season he was second in the Arkansas Derby (gr. I) and the Commonwealth (gr. IIIT) on the turf at Churchill. He had a good season as a 4-year-old, winning the Eclipse and Ben Ali by 4 and 5 lengths.
"Frac Daddy has tremendous tactical speed and dominated in several of his races. He had the precocity to be a successful 2-year-old and the constitution to withstand the Triple Crown and become a top 4-year-old." McPeek said. "He has many of the positive attributes of the leading sires I've trained. We're very excited at his prospects at Canada's preeminent stallion farm."
