Black Caviar has colt by Sebring Chris Roots Sydney Morning Herald Unbeaten world champion Black Caviar gave birth to her second foal, a colt by Sebring, in the Hunter Valley on Thursday morning. Managing owner Neil Werrett was delighted with the how quickly the colt and mum had recovered. "It was very quick last night and went to plan, which was great," Werrett said. "She is doing very well and has turned into a great mum and is very protective of the colt already. "He is a leggy athletic colt and even though he is only 12 hours old, he is running around the paddock already." Being a colt, by a Golden Slipper winner, which only met with defeat once on the track him, and out of a world champion, it would be worth millions of dollars but the owners have said they will retain and race all the sons and daughters of the great mare. Black Caviar had an Exceed And Excel filly 12 months ago, which will probably be seen at the races next year. Black Caviar ranks alongside Australia's greatest racehorses, she won 15 Group 1s, including the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2012. She won three Lightning Stakes, a race that now carries her name, two VRC Classics, two William Reid Stakes and two T.J. Smiths, which was her racing farewell in 2013. Her next mating has not been decided but it is believed Snitzel is near the top of the list of options.
