how maany times do you see it and yet the bettors fall for it everytime. an average to good early 3 year old who showed he wasnt on par with the best comes off a long layoff and gets pounded in his first start back and gets nothing. UNCLE SIGH at 1/2 was ridiculous. do you know how much the other horses he was racing against have matured and improved since then? here you have a horse who peaked and matured early, and will most likely never get any better then he was in his early 3 year old season. plus on top of it the races he was competitive in were those same old new york/ aqueduct 3 year old races which produce nothing in the grand scheme of things.
i just wish i had the time and energy to map out a pick six back there today. he was a great bet against at 1/2 and probably just knocked out 80% of the players. i will settle for a win bet and an exacta i guess. im just glad i saw he was entered. this was the only race i looked at today at that track.

uh no not at all jon. last i looked running 2nd in the jerome, gotham, wood, or whatever other off the wall early in the year new york derby prep was not the equivelant of winning the breeders cup classic, haskell, and woody stephens, and running how many different 100 and 110 plus beyers while winning major stakes races all throughout the country. bayern actually had a career and accomplished something before his form turned sour off the layoff. have i once this year declared bayern a major contender or threat against top competition? no, because i could see after his first start back he wasnt the same horse. i was hoping he would bounce back, but never really expected it or wagered on it. one thing people dont learn in this sport ( especially re tard nick) is that when horses go bad they gerally stay bad abd if you keep chasing them as they descend down the class ladder after having been great at one time, you will go broke. keep looking for BACK class and you will be a continual loser.
comparing uncle sigh to bayern is like comparing cappernick to a monkey. give the monkey a little more credit then that please.

Wiz - the races you mentioned were as a 3 yr old. And he won the BCC as a CA gift! Also Uncle Sigh was coming off of an injury.
Your comparison is rude. Nick - feel free to respond!

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? JON IS COMPARING ONE HORSE TO ANOTHER. I JUST SHOWED HOW THERE IS NO COMPARISON IN THE TWO AND THERE NEVER COULD HAVE BEEN. AND IF YOU LOOK, THE POINT OF MY POST WAS THAT HE WAS A BAD BET AND A SUCKER PLAY. IF HE WAS COMING OFF AN INJURY, IT IS JUST ONE MORE REASON NOT TO TAKE THE SHORT PRICE THAT HE WAS. ISNT THAT MY POINT?

Yean Wiz - comparing as 4 YR OLDS, not 3. Agree Sigh was a bad bet just as Bayern has been as a 4 yr old.

well i can say is at least bayern had a legitimate reason to be a short price in his first and maybe second start of the year. uncle sigh did not.

I could see the very same thing. That is why I kept on saying that Bayern is going downhill fast and did not support him any longer. I correctly scoped him out and made my handicapping adjustments accordingly.

well i can say is at least bayern had a legitimate reason to be a short price in his first and maybe second start of the year. uncle sigh did not. Uncle Sigh only had two races off a long layoff. In his first race he ran 2nd and in the second race off layoff he ran 5th to the very same horses he soundly defeated when he ran 2nd. It would stand to reason that he would improve off of that first comeback race and really clobber the same horses now but that didn't happen and he ran a disappointing 5th. Why I don't know but that is horse racing. In summary he looked like the horse to beat in his second race off layoff against nothing - nobody - nada horses who were in the race at the time. Of course after the race you can use your 20/20 vision and say he did not have a chance. The worst part is that in any case he is not even running against anything and getting beat so he sure has digressed. lol.

NEVER SAID HE DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE IN THE 2ND START. ONCE AGAIN PEOPLE, TRY TO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH WHEN YOU READ IT. I SAID HE WAS A SUCKER BET AT SHORT ODDS. DOES NO ONE HERE UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERRENCE?

If you say that you did not say he did not have a chance, meaning that he had a chance, then how could he be a sucker bet? WTF?

HAVING A CHANCE IS A LOT DIFFERENT THEN TAKING 1/2 ODDS ON A HORSE. IF YOU TAKE 1/2 ODDS ON A HORSE, YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT HE COULD BASICALLY FALL DOWN, GET BACK UP, DUST HIMSELF OFF, AND STILL WIN THE RACE. THAT IS A LOT DIFFERENT THEN JUST HAVING A CHANCE.
