Be Bullish was claimed yesterday by Mike Repole after winning yesterday and was promptly retired. The popular gray 10 yr old had raced 87 times winning 19 times. Repole claimed him from David Jacobson. As Repole stated the horse is going out on top and deserves his retirement. He will be sent to Old Friends at Saratoga. Thank God for owners like Repole. We all remember what Jacobson did with another old warrior Saginaw who also should have been retired.

Kept him running until broke down and had to be put down. Just saw where someone posted on Paulick that Drawing Away Stables is pulling their horses from DJ. Don't know if that's true or not.

good for repole! he did own the horse for a short time a few years ago - chart says repole claimed him for 16K
here's story from Paulick
According to multiple reports, 10-year-old Be Bullish, a popular stakes-winning gelding on the New York circuit, was claimed by owner Mike Repole after a Sunday victory at Belmont and has been retired from racing.
In his 87th start, Be Bullish earned his 19th victory with a three-length win over four others in the third race on Belmont’s Sunday card. He was racing for owners David Jacobson and Drawing Away Stable; Jacobson also trained the gelding.
New owner Repole told the DRF’s David Grening that Be Bullish “has put in his time, he’s going out on top, he’s going out in the winner’s circle. If every horse could have an ending like this, the sport would be in a much better place.”
Be Bullish, who retires with more than a million in earnings, will live out his post-racing days at Old Friends Cabin Creek in Saratoga.

This is wonderful. He has certainly earned a nice retirement. Thank you Mike Repole! Old Friends Cabin Creek Welcomes Be Bullish Bloodhorse Old Friends at Cabin Creek, the New York satellite of the Georgetown, Ky., Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Center, welcomed multiple stakes winner Be Bullish May 28. The 10-year-old New York-bred gelding celebrated his 19th win May 17, when he won a $16,000 claiming race at Belmont Park. It was his 87th career start and fourth straight victory. Following his win, Be Bullish was claimed by prominent owner Mike Repole, who purchased the horse with the sole intent of retiring him from racing. Repole noted that Be Bullish "has put in his time, he's going out on top, he's going out in the winner's circle. If every horse could have an ending like this, the sport would be in a much better place." Be Bullish, who retires with more than $1.1 million in earnings, will live out his post-racing days at Old Friends Cabin Creek near Saratoga Springs, N.Y., which is also home to Repole retiree Cool N' Collective. "Our thanks to Mike Repole for giving this New York favorite the retirement he deserves," said JoAnn Pepper, owner and manager of Old Friends at Cabin Creek. "Be Bullish gave his all to racing. We're very grateful to have him and we look forward to his all of his fans visiting him at the farm." Photo: Coglianese Photos
