We all joke about Timonium (even though we had a great time there!) and Wiz is especially hard on MD racing but this is pretty good. Not a prestigious KY sale - Timonium!
Upgrades Finished Ahead of F-T MidAlantic Sale Bloodhorse
A number of upgrades to the Maryland State Fairgrounds barn area have been completed ahead of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in training sale, May 18-19, in Timonium.
The upgrades include installation of new screens and door jams to each stall; the addition of energy-efficient LED shedrow, stall, and flood lighting to the barn area; privacy fencing; and improvements to tack rooms and stalls.
"We appreciate the great improvements made to the barn area at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. In particular, having the stall screens all in place frees up consignors from the burden of transporting them," Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sales director Paget Bennett said. "All of the upgrades have helped to assure us that the horses will be safe and secure before, during, and after the sale."
There are 490 horses cataloged for the sale. An under tack show is set for May 13-14, starting at 8 a.m. EDT.
Sale graduates include grade I winners 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Bayern; Santa Anita Derby (gr. I) winner Dortmund, who was third in this year's Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I); and Besilu Stables Florida Derby (gr. I) victor) Materiality as well as multiple graded stakes-placed War Story.
