Guess Borel won't be replacing Smith! Tough break for Lopez who rode the horse well.
Borel Named to Ride El Kabeir in KY Derby By Steve Haskin Bloodhorse
Three-time Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I)-winning jockey Calvin Borel will replace C.C. Lopez aboard Zayat Stables’ El Kabeir in the May 2 classic at Churchill Downs.
Borel, who captured the Derby aboard Street Sense in 2007, Mine That Bird in 2009, and Super Saver in 2010, was aboard El Kabeir for his wire-to-wire victory in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) at Churchill Downs Nov. 29.
When the son of Scat Daddy remained in New York for a winter campaign, Borel was replaced by Lopez, who rode the colt in his next four starts, winning the Jerome Stakes (gr. III) and Gotham Stakes (gr. III), and finishing second in the Withers Stakes (gr. III) and third in the Twinspires.com Wood Memorial (gr. I).
Trainer John Terranova said El Kabeir will likely work at Belmont next Sunday, April 26, and ship to Kentucky by van later that night, taking up residence in Bob Baffert's barn.

Will take WAY TO MUCH money in the win pool but people love him here in KY. Of course everybody has MINE THAT BIRD in the back of their mind so that's where a lot of the money will come from
