Winter Weather Forces Several Cancellations Bloodhorse
n anticipation of extreme winter weather conditions, the New York Racing Association has canceled live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack Sunday, Feb. 15, and Laurel Park has postponed its Sunday card to Feb. 20.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, Penn National Race Course, and Turfway Park called off their Saturday, Feb. 14 cards. Turfway's featured race for Saturday, the Cincinnati Trophy Stakes, has been rescheduled to Sunday, Feb. 22.
Aqueduct is running its Saturday program as scheduled. However, temperatures in the New York area are expected to drop severely overnight into Sunday with a predicted high of 21 degrees and northwest winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour including gusts over 50 mph. A low of 3 degrees is predicted for Sunday night with continued strong winds.
Maryland Jockey Club has postponed Sunday's Laurel card because of winter weather. It is rescheduled to Friday, Feb. 20. Live racing is to resume Monday, Feb. 16.
Aqueduct and the Belmont Cafe will remain open for simulcasting on Sunday. Telebet and Internet wagering will continue to be available through NYRA Rewards.
Live racing at Aqueduct is to resume Feb. 16, with the $100,000 Evening Attire Stakes highlighting the Presidents' Day card. The NYRA said it will continue to closely monitor weather forecasts and provide updates should further action be necessary regarding Monday's program.

After talking to CC, it's colder in MD but Laurel is still scheduled to race! Either place is sumply damned cold though!
Aqueduct Cancels Live Racing Feb. 16 - Tomorrow
With sub-zero wind chills anticipated from a severe winter storm, the New York Racing Association canceled live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack Feb. 16, including the scheduled $100,000 Evening Attire Stakes.
It will be the second straight scheduled racing day the New York track will go without races, and training at Aqueduct and Belmont Park will also be canceled Monday. The Presidents' Day cancellation will be the 11th complete race card Aqueduct has lost as a result of inclement weather conditions in 2015.
Aqueduct and the Belmont Cafe will remain open for simulcasting. Telebet and Internet wagering will continue to be available through NYRA Rewards.
Live racing at Aqueduct is scheduled to resume Feb. 19.
