Dynamic Strike won the Miracle Wood Stakes Feb. 9.
Dynamic Strike will try for a second straight stakes win at Laurel Park and fourth consecutive victory overall at the track in the $150,000 Private Terms Stakes March 9.
The Smart Strike colt is trained by Dickie Small and has known no other rider than Forrest Boyce in his four lifetime starts. Last time out, in the one-mile Miracle Wood Stakes Feb. 9, Dynamic Strike was allowed to settle seven lengths off the pace before sweeping up to post a driving, one-length victory. In his two previous victories, the colt won while racing close to the lead.
A homebred for Fitzhugh, Dynamic Sky, 5-2 on the morning line, gets to go around two turns this time and gets an added furlong to launch his attack.
"I was really pleased about the last win because he did it a little differently," Boyce said. "He is tough. He makes you work for everything. He still has a lot of growing up to do but each time he seems to learn more and more. I don't think we have gotten to the bottom of him, which is promising."
Brahman Red's Battier (4-1) has won three races in a row for trainer Pablo Andrade, all at Parx Racing. The Tale of the Cat colt's tactical speed will play to his advantage on Saturday as he makes his first stakes attempt. Jockey Angel Castillo retains the mount.
Bill Mott trains Mr Palmer (5-1), a maiden winner at Aqueduct last time out. He posted an 86 Beyer speed figure in that test, the best among the 10 entered in the Private Terms. Junior Alvarado will accompany the Pulpit colt from New York.
Seventeenohsix (5-1) has won two of seven starts, defeating allowance runners at Parx in his most recent outing. However, the Dance With Ravens colt has finished off the board in three stakes attempts. Kendrick Carmouche has the riding assignment for trainer John Servis.
Mike Trombetta will saddle Where's Dominic (6-1), who finished a length behind Dynamic Strike in the Miracle Wood. Julian Pimentel will be aboard the Midnight Lute colt, who defeated the favorite in mid-October.
