no guarrantees here. i dont proclaim anything to be a cinch or a lock. in fact i have no idea who is even running or what they look like. but i have one qh on my stable mail and this is it. i watched him race last month and thought he ran well for a first timer. he was btl and should improve. however i believe that was a mdn. 8k or mdn. 10k claimer that day and this is some sort of trial, so im not sure how he matches up classwise against these. he may be overmatched. but he is a big price and worth a small shot. dont bet the house.
#9 pappas in the pen.

Interesting.
wiz, I see he's been gelded since that August 29 race. This is an angle I use for thoroughbreds, lots of times horses come back and run much better first time as a gelding - true for quarter horses too?

yes. most angles are good in both breeds. ftg, trainer changes, fw on or off, ftl, etc.
i saw that also, but still dont know how he fits. i will be playing very small.

Unfortunately no one on the east coast is taking bets on the Turf Paradise races today (twinspires, CT OTB, NYRA Rewards) Maybe it's because it's only a four-race card?

yeah i didnt see it listed anywhere either. i think it is because the meet doesnt officially start today. they are just running these trials and then will have the finals on opening weekend. i cant even find results.

Just as well we couldn't bet it. It was a 4-race betting card, and Pappas In The Pen finished 10th in his heat.

Charts are posted on DRF. The race was won by the 4-5 favorite, Pappas in the Pen was bumped at the start and finished last at 10-1.
Really strange that they took bets on those races, it looks like no one knew about them - the WPS pool in the last race was 1200 bucks, trifecta pool was 400, superfecta 200. Get this, the daily double pool (3rd and 4th races) was $31! A couple of bucks into any of the pools would have really screwed them up.

yeah those are the races i used to salivate over back in the day. becuse you know damn well there were offshore books taking those races yesterday and not having any idea what he pools were going to be like. tup is not a minor track at some places also. they take decent amounts there at some books. imagine being able to bet 200wps and 50 dollar exotics without killing the pools?
