we weren't comparing the Belmont. we were comparing the Haskell and jim dandy, run the same weekend. that is the race they are coming out of.
kid cruz will beat wicked stromg and tonalist. mark my words. he was the best of those three last time.

I'll be watching for Mr Speaker to show up in the lane and pick up the leaders at the wire.

definitely looking for kid cruz to run big today. the track is playing for closers also. so even though I still think Bayern is the best horse and the distance wont be the problem, i like kid cruz today. understand that cap? its called learning to adjust on race day. just like i have tried to explain to you before, but you don't learn or listen.
i like 2,8 over 6,7 over 1.
hate mr. speaker and all three that come out of the curlin.

Mack - Great pick! So what did the Travers show? Jimmy Jerkens personifies "Like father, like son"! Javier knows how to win big races. Wicked Strong is for real. That theory that when a trainer has 2 separate entries in a race, play the longer odds might be true LOL Bayern can't win on a non speed favoring surface, especially at 1 1/4. The Travers isn't Bob's race but the Haskell sure is! Kid Cruz and Commanding Curve are nice horses but a notch below the top 3 yr olds. Tom can call a great race. His call was excellent!

Bayern CANT win on a non speed favoring track, just because he didn't today? does that mean that tonaist cant either? because his Belmont win came on a speed favoring track, as did his win before that. there is a big difference between a speed favoring track, a closer biased track, and an even track. as I pointed out before the race, this track today was anti speed, not even, and that is fine. he lost. I accept that. but that doesn't mean he cant or wont beat these same horses next time on a different track that is neither speed or anti speed. besides it was Saratoga. the best horse usually loses there anyway. he will be back.
same thing goes for the announcer. as I said elsewhere, one race or day does not make an announcer. so he made it 2 minutes without flubbing up. he has made enough bad calls this meet alone to make up for it. good riddance. the end of the month cant come soon enough!!

Does Whitey cut back Bayern towards the BC Sprint? I do think he is damn good with a scary upside. Bob will find a way to put him in a nice spot. Thanks for the congrats pick

We learned that Bayern is not a super horse and is now back to his old ways of folding when he runs against class like he did in the triple crown.
We learned that Wicked Strong is a very consistent 3yo that always runs big against class.
We learned that VE Day is a really good horse. Like where did he come from? He got beat by 5 lengths by Picozza in a MSW race just a few races ago and now he wins the Travers? WTF? That's why they call it gambling. lol. And Macdaddy was the only one who had him. lol.

same question as always. when did he fold in a tc race? he ran in one tc race and was completely eliminated at the start. distance or competition level had nothing to do with it.
mack, I don't think so. he will probably keep fed biz going short and have him for the sprint, regarless of how he runs tomorrow. that rail post will be tough tomorrow though. at 2-1 it isn't a good bet, although I think he is the best horse.
Bayern can still be pointed toward the classic, and if bob doesn't think he can handle it, be even money in the dirt mile.
