were talking handle and popularity which many on here love to spout off about. this just goes to show what others around the country think of the racing at Saratoga. people who are there in person might be betting it, but the majority of players at simulcasts and other venues are getting away from it, even with their supposedly better quality of horses (which is nothing more then a sham) and bloated purses. another 600k dollar race last weekend and they had 6 horses?

wizzie- just read the article(am at work) ok - where are the similar #'s for del mar? it just sounds like you're needlessly slamming ny racing - again - even though you say you have no bias - i don't play del mar (will once they have safe tracks and get rid of polycrap!) so haven't a clue what their cards are like
still say "bloated" purses is a wrong phrase - the $'s there for purses - so be it - maybe someday cali racing will be lucky enough to be able to offer the same (you sound like the one spouting sour grapes lol) - and yeah - sure - enjoy those big purses while they last!

I don't have them in front of me but they were posted on here last week and they were all up.
I don't play del mar either, so it has nothing to do with bias. their fields have been big and the racing has been good. big purses don't guarantee good racing and vice versa. I have said that for a while. it doesn't hurt, but it doesn't guarantee it. believe me, being a fan of ca. racing, the last thing I want is to see those bloated purses if it means getting them the way other states have. by selling your souls to the devil, AKA casino and slots money.
