jesus, the horse won by a head in the Sanford and the blind man cant call the winner? and all that after basically losing sight of the troubled runner-up behind horses in the early stretch. another very bad call. hopefully the end of the meet will come quick.

are you serious? you don't think the runner-up had trouble? wow, you really need to learn how to watch a race ev if you think the runner-up wasn't troubled. what do you think the inquiry was for? and im not talking about in the stretch with the winner.
my bashing of durrrr- kin will end when he is nothing more then a bad memory in the announcers booth!!

wiz, the camera isn't on the wire at Saratoga, its slightly beyond the wire. It was a closer finish than it looked.
Quick, who just won the 8 race? And look at the first race yesterday - everyone was sure the 8 horse won, but the 2 got his nose in front.

Which photo?
By the way, to show how the camera angle doesn't give an accurate idea of who won or by how much, or how it can be subjective - the official margin in the Sanford was a neck. I thought it was (after a few replays) a long nose, you thought it was a head.
Remember, he's calling it live, we're seeing replays seconds after the race. And IF he should happen to call it the wrong way at the wire it would be worse than calling it "too close to call".
Remember the 1981 Arlington Million? ABC had The Bart finishing first, then went to commercial. When they came back they had John Henry first! Betcha some people were embarrassed.

I was saying at least a head. it wasn't close was my point. and I said it wasn't close when they ran it live, not on tape. as long as your right 99% of the time, your allowed to call a photo wrong once in a great while, as long as your putting yourself out there all the time. but when your a chickenshit and don't take chances and then when you do your wrong, well that's bad.

It wasn't close? Well - Not AFTER the wire! I was just hoping 5 would stay up 1st or 2nd as that race has been my "day maker"!

2010? if your referring to the zenyatta/ blame race, if I remember right, he didn't call the wrong winner. he did call the race with a bias and was clearly rooting for zenyatta and was disappointed when she didn't get there, but I don't remember him calling the wrong winner. but then again, I have only heard the call 2 or 3 times and not for a long time. I find it amusing that whenever I talk about durkin and his countless and daily mistakes he makes, that the one thing people respond with is that or the other zenyatts classic race call as why trevor is bad. is that all you guys have to respond with? look, she was a fan favorite (not mine, but she was popular) and he wasn't the only one rooting for her. he got caught up in the moment. at least he can call a photo finish.
and no ev, it wasn't close.
btw, do you still think five wasnt troubled?
