he has no grasp of the English language or what the questions really mean that are being asked. when he gives responses, they don't make sense as to what the question was. hes a nice guy, but he is just dumb and simple. I hate to say this, but he has an autistic son, and I have to wonder if somehow that is hereditary in any way, even though it is not supposed to be.
caleb asked him a question tonight about the sunday nonsense they do on tvg called the smackdown where he competes against someone else in a mythical br contest. he is facing ed on sunday and caleb asked him what the odds should be. les responds with, "I should be a heavy favorite. maybe even money".
WTF?? IS HE SERIOUS??

hes been brain dead since before that kid was born, believe me. as ive said before, les is actually a nice man. but in no other industry would a man of his intelligence and simple common sense be allowed to be the face or spokeman of a product. he is not made for television, except for the fact that he is a kiss ass.

Aside from that, he's about the best quarter hose handicapper in the country. Would you rather watch and listen to Chris Kotulak?

George there are no less then ten different guys who I could call on speed dial right now who have more knowledge and qh handicapping ability in their little finger then les does. just because he is the best of a bad lot does not make him the best. yes, out of the clowns they have at night on tvg, he may be the best handicapper they have to offer, but he is the worst on the mic.

no les is way worse. bob may be boring, and even outdated in his handicapping and style, but at least he is well spoken, has a decent vocabulary, and is understandable on the mic, and has a grasp of the English language. les just comes off as confused 90% of the time.

Just have to sat Wiz is relentless when he doesn't like someone or something! I like Les. His English is fine. He's not nearly as boring as Bob! He doesn't drone on about his past. They both pick favorites but that's really the same as Ed since Ed makes the ML. Dave Weaver is the best on TVG's 1/4's. The worst is that chatterbox, Caleb followed closely by the other chatterbox, Gino!

I know les . do you? have you ever had a conversation with him? it has nothing to do with like or dislike as I have said before. I think hes a good guy. but that doesn't make him tv or analyst material. not everything comes down to like or dislike ev. a lot of things come down to being honest and speaking the truth and not being politically correct or ass kissing just because you like someone.

Wiz - I think you know the answer. No, I have never met Les. But the thread is about him ON TV, not in person. He's fine on TV - he picks winners and speaks just fine. That's my honest opinion. Is he a favorite? Not for me because I don't bet many quarters except maybe on slow nights or big race nights. Dave Weaver is a better personality but he doesn't give much reasoning for his picks although that may not be his job. One night I saw him as the only host and that was the best. That night he explained his picks and made perfect sense. IMO - TVG should let Dave host solo
