Race 1) #6 Hawkedon
Ran the absolte toughest race two back in 6 1/2 sprint 2nd to Oliver's Tale in 1:11/4 turf downhill. Then came back to just miss at one mile against same horeses some of these have been running good against (Avare - Trelaway). I will give him that last race since first time at one mile in a while but won't run bad two times in a row. Today he will roll!
Race 2) #1 Solid Wager
Looks like absolute class running against the likes of California Chrome, Alpine Luck, Kobe's Back, etc. last year. Did not like that last race at 6 1/2 turf but shoud do a lot better shorter in 2nd race off layoff at 6F dirt. Only drawbsck is that he is a 3yo running agaist some older horses but still looks like class.
Race 3) #12 Screamin Earliene
Looks like speed and class coming off of first time start in lead in highest price maiden claiming 40K race and fastest fractions. Uunless there is a surprise from a first time starter this horse looks like the one to beat.
Race 4) #2 Schoolofhardrocks
Another 3yo running against older horses but looks like clearly has the class of race and speed too. Way over head in SA derby against Chrome but in last race but when dropped in class ran real good in short stakes turf up front all the way around. Should run better in stretch out to 1 1/8 turf.
Race 5) #1 Verdula
This 5yo horse was bred by Moss from Mizen Mast who has be producing a lot of good runners. Ran in class race first time out but then laid up for a couple of years. I give this horse a shot at a nice price against the horse to beat which looks clearly like the #4 Sunset Strip.
Race 6) #1 Ann's Gold
This is a pretty open race but going with #1 with Iggy on board. Ran the tightest and fastest 6 1/2 turf downhill in last. Three back ran 1 mile MSW turf close to lead. Now drops in class to Mcl and goes back to 1 mile turf. Can win if still as good as the three and four back 1 mile turf MSW races as not much class in this race.
Race 7) #5 Handsome Mike
This horse still has a lot of class. Not sure why O'Niel was so high on him running in 6 1/2 turf races for the past year but maybe he was dodging other older monster dirt horses like GOD etc, Switched back to distance 1 1/8 dirt in last where he belongs and woke up big time. The 1 1/4 distance today is what he needs to turn the tide on Fury Kapcori at a nice price. I look for them to send him to the lead today getting the jump on Kapcori and wiring the field.
Race 8) #7 Diversity Harbor
In last race ran real even against Nashoba's Gold - started off 2nd by 1 and finished up 3rd by 1 at
1 1/8. That is a perfect sign for stretchout to 1 1/4 better than Nashoba's Gold race. I say Diversity Harbor beats Nashoba's Gold today at 1 1/4.
Race 9) #4 Obsess
Has ran against most of these already and always in or near the lead just missing at the end. Today looks like may be his day at a nice price.
