Redoute's Choice Rivals Danehill
Monday, 25 February 2013: Arrowfield's champion sire Redoute's Choice joined an elite group of Australasian super sires with his 100th stakeswinner on February 23.
The honour was achieved by 4YO mare She's Clean with a determined victory in the Listed Triscay Stakes at Warwick Farm.
It was also her trainer Chris Waller's 100 metropolitan success this season.
Redoute's Choice joins his own sire, the great Danehill (176 SW) and the father-and-son pair of Sir Tristram (129) and Zabeel (143) as the only four stallions in history to sire 100 or more worldwide stakeswinners from Australasian-conceived foals.
Together, they have dominated Australasian racing and breeding for the past three decades.
The milestone comes 3494 days into Redoute's Choice's stud career - only 63 days longer than it took Danehill to achieve the same mark in 2002.
Also like his sire, Redoute's Choice has reached 100 stakeswinners at the age of 16.
Sir Tristram's 100th stakeswinner came up in July 2003 when he was 17 years-old, while Zabeel reached his century at the age of 19, in April 2006.
Arrowfield's chairman John Messara said: "I am so proud of Redoute's Choice, it is a magnificent achievement to reach his century of stakeswinners and to join such an exclusive group of champion stallions.
"I congratulate the Ingham family, Chris Waller and Jim Cassidy on creating this piece of history with She's Clean and thank everyone who has been part of Redoute's Choice's success over the past decade.
"In particular, I acknowledge the loyal support of Muzaffar Yaseen, the breeder and majority owner of Redoute's Choice, and everyone who has bred, bought and trained his progeny.
"I also thank Arrowfield's past and present staff who have done such an outstanding job of caring for and managing every aspect of his stud career, especially our Operations Manager Sam Fairgray, who arrived at Arrowfield only a few months before Redoute's Choice in 2000.
"This is a wonderful milestone to celebrate, but the future for Redoute's Choice is even more exciting as he enters a new phase of his career, standing his first season in Europe."
Redoute's Choice has just begun serving a superlative book of mares at The Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval in France.
She's Clean was bred by the joint venture of Arrowfield Stud and long-time client and friend John Leaver and was purchased for $300,000 by Ingham Racing from the Arrowfield draft at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Sale.
Her dam, Feather Duster (End Sweep) is a stakes-placed half-sister to Kinshasa No Kiseki, Japan's Champion Sprinter-Miler in 2010, from the family of French G1 winners Groom Dancer, Plumania and Falco.
Feather Duster has a yearling filly by Flying Spur that will be offered by Arrowfield at the upcoming Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, and a 2012 filly by Not A Single Doubt.
She's Clean, now the winner of six of her 14 starts and $307,870, is Redoute's Choice's 9th Australian stakeswinner, and 14th worldwide, this season.
Arrowfield will offer a filly bred on the same Redoute's Choice/End Sweep cross at the Inglis Australian Easter Sale (Lot 58) from the G1 winner Clean Sweep.
