I really hope she runs well. Pletcher said she's not "cranked up" but wanted to get a race into her. Wedding Toast could be a spoiler.

Two of her three career losses have been in her first back after a long layoff. I'm not rooting for it but she could be had - the 6 horse, Wedding Toast, is a pretty good looking horse but she too has been off since November. Any of the other three could finish first, but in the 9th race.

1.34.79 for the mile handily by four. Hmmm, she's going to be a monster this year!

True, but certainly not in her case. 1.34 and change after a four month layoff, regardless of her competition, is mighty impressive.

imn just kidding. she is a fine mare. but its sort of like comparing Rachel and zenyatta. Rachel is beholder and zenyatta is POS. one is great and the other is above average and overhyped.

I hope we get to see them race against each other on neutral ground sometime this year. Oh wait! That happened last year....

haha you just cant wait to ruin another filly by running her over her head in unnecessary spots. she should concentrate on beating the best in her own division first. something she couldn't come close to doing last oct.

oh stop it - her last race was a throwout because of the track - and that excuse is just as valid as saying beholder got upset before the Oaks - awwww
she beat the best while the BC winner stayed home and ran against allowance horses - a la zenyatta - hey - i like beholder - i hope they duke it out - but beholder isn't really built to go against males - princess is huge and sturdy - she is capable of beating the boys - not so sure re beholder so while racing against boys might ruin beholder, not princess
every other country in the world runs males/females together - and she's not a baby filly any more - she's a big strong girl

Princess looked great yesterday and likewise, I hope we do get to see her and Beholder settle the score on equal footing at some point this year. Hey, why not Delaware? Neither filly has ever raced there. Don't misunderstand me because I like both fillies, but Princess was the best 3YO last year no matter what the Eclipse voters say. As for going against the boys...maybe! She's the type that could do it though. She's bigger than most of colts.

Did they switch trainers for Beholder over the winter? She's had seven workouts in the last five weeks, still no definite plans to race anytime soon. Does Shirreffs train her now?

Can't find any news about a trainer change but it is curious that completely passed on the La Canada series. Could be something physical but let's hope not.

throwout because of the track........... yeah I forgot, she has no speed and has to run on tracks favoring plodders and closers to run her best. my bad. I love how you say she beat the best. she beat SHIT in those races all year. 5 and 6 horse fields of crap. now the horses beholder beat may not have been any better, but they weren't any worse. they both beat crap all year until the breeders cup, except for in the oaks where they ran 1-2 separated by a half length. how nuch were they separated by in the BC again, when they had both fully matured and were at their best?

I was being sarcastic - since she's been working frequently for so long, it's following the pattern of "Patient John" Shirreffs, who races his horses about three or four times a year (i.e., Eblouissante!)

am excluding joyful victory and fiftyshadesofhay from the less than graded competition beholder faced in cali - however, beholder does not belong in races with nice, but not excellent girls such as Becky Lou, Charlie Em, Iotapa, Black Witch and so forth
again - i like her - just think princess is a better horse -
