Wiz - Be fair LOL He went off at 3/2. The winner was even $. He ran 2nd - just like the board said. Not sure why he held back - thought he was a front runner? Front end golden at Sam H tonight. Will say that at least he brings home decent checks. You're right about the announcer - sounded like he was gearing up to fly. (She's going to be pissed at you! But then, what else is new? LOL)

what did I do? he was 1-9 when I said all that. the winner took all the late action. he didn't hold back. he got outrun. he wasn't fast enough. I mean they did break the track record.

That's the problem with those small pools - one blowhard decides to put 100 bucks on a horse at the last minute and it goes to even money, all others go way up.

Total combined handle was 1.96M - Not so small - Good night for Sam H (Wiz - I have to be "kind" - You know how females can be LOL)
From Billings, MT Gazette
Frac Daddy finishes 2nd in stakes race
Print Email 12 hours ago HOUSTON -- Billings-owned Frac Daddy finished second Saturday night in the $100,000 Maxxam Gold Cup stakes race at Sam Houston Race Park.
Favorite Red Rifle won the 1 1/8-mile race on dirt with a track record time of 1:48.73 to claim the $60,000 top prize in the six-horse field.
Red Rifle, which led all of the way, paid $4.00, $2.20 and $2.10.
Robby Albarado was the winning rider for the Todd Pletcher-trailed horse.
Frac Daddy, owned by Magic City Thoroughbred Partners, was driving at the end in finishing second by nearly three lengths. The 4-year-old thoroughbred, ridden by Shane Laviolette and trained by Ken McPeek, earned $20,000.
Texas Air finished third.
Frac Daddy raced in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont States in 2013.

Yes, it was a good night overall for Sam Houston, glad to see it - it's a "nice" racetrack and the people who go have a good time. But the WPS pool on the race was $78K. Figuring that the win pool is roughly 2/3 of that, that's only $50,000. Doesn't take much, especially if "connections" know something (remember, the winner was a Gulfstream shipper not familiar with the locals) dump a bundle at the last minute.
Back to Frac Daddy, I don't understand all the fuss about that horse - all he's won is a MSW and two Allowance races. Nothing else. His finishes in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes were 16th and 14th. Sure, he's earned $400K, but he's done that picking up the pieces that no other horse wanted, collecting as they say the "minor awards".

George there is no big deal about him............other then here. in the real world he ranks somewhere between a black ruby and mr. zippy. but he is a favorite of one of the forums female members so that is why he stays "in the news" around here. its been obvious for a long time he isn't much of a horse when it comes to the track, but with a ittle luck they can get even on him (I believe they paid 500k?) and make a few bucks standing him for 2 or 3 thousand at stud somewhere. you never know what might happen in that department. maybe he will take off as at stud. they can change his name from crap daddy to the qhwizard!!

He's a favorite of the crazy one from MD. Heard she's even sending him a birthday present. LOL Wiz - Did she send you a birthday present?!
500K? No Way. I looked it up. Only 50K. Nice return for the price and he's running at 4 - will give him that. He was entered at too high a level last year, as many are for the TC IMO
From last year @ kyderbybetting.com
Kentucky Derby Horses – Frac Daddy He’s barely even a blip on the radar for many casual horse lovers, but Frac Daddy seems to have captured the attention of those in the know. As we go to press, three of the four handicapping experts polled by Churchill Downs have compiled their Top 10 Kentucky Derby contenders lists, and only two horses appear on every list: Shanghai Bobby and Frac Daddy...........
Skip Away also gives Frac Daddy his grayish color and his massive frame, which captured McPeek’s eye when he purchased Frac Daddy as a yearling for Magic City Thoroughbred Partners. The cost? A mere $50,000.

I think you guys are "bad" LOL (TY Jon - except for the "crazy" you backed off a bit!) He's a really good looking horse that has won 425K. Not too shabby. Bet any/all of you wish you owned him! It did take a track record to beat him. He swung 3 or 4 wide but the winner had the advantage - #1 post on a speed favoring track.

I'm sure the owners are cashing all the checks he's earning, but he's the kind of horse that just doesn't seem to want to win - one of those "gregarious" horses that runs well but likes having horses around him....a modern day Jacques Who!
