mack, one can't "assume" there was anything untoward about him not showing up for his mounts and not at least telling his agent or the stewards. The fact that this has happened a half dozen or so times in the past and that he violated the terms of his conditional license may not have anything to do with this. He's the Steve Howe of thoroughbred racing!

My question is why he keeps getting chances to ride? This is why racing needs a commisioner to handle the entire body of the sport. Dont leave it up to the stewards to make decisions like this. It wouldn't suprise me on bit if he got reinstated for a 20th time or so. To me its a slap in the face to guys trying their asses off and showing up everyday for the oppurtunity to get the rides he gets. Quit suspending him and rule him off permanetely. I don't want to hear a peep from anyone that he has his fair share of problems either. Valenzuela had more chances to get his act together than Darryl Strawberry.

Maybe he and Alex Rodriguez can open up a head shop somewhere?
