Laurel, Penn National, and Charles Town have all cancelled their races today.
Laurel will be open for simulcasting but won't be taking bets on the South American races later in the day.

We're in the "snow belt" of Connecticut, usually we get more than the coastline - we got 2", they got up to 10" down in Old Saybrook and east.

Officially 11.5 inches (Central Park). The city's open of course (even schools) but it's absolutely freezing and a good day to work from home! I know MD got hit hard. Cait had about a foot and everything is very icy with minus temps. Which brings up this question - LOL - who else uses kitty litter instead of salt?!! She said all MD schools and gov't offices are closed

Laurel Press Release from Laurel site LAUREL, MD., 01-22-14---Due to extreme weather conditions in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. markets, live racing at Laurel Park has been cancelled for Wednesday, January 22. Laurel and its sister track, Pimlico Race Course, will be open for simulcasting. “It is better to wait and clear the track after it stopped snowing,” Maryland Jockey Club Director of Racing Georganne Hale said. “It is brutally cold out there which could have been an issue with the jocks. It is not bearable out there today for horse or rider but we should be good to go tomorrow when the temperatures rise a bit.”
