Interesting that they have four finalists in each category, and there's an award for top broodmare but not sire - sexist pigs!
Tickets for the party are only $250 each - might be worth a visit along with the opening weekend at Woodbine.
Mack, I see that Malcolm Pierce is a finalist for top trainer and Up With The Birds a finalist for three year old male. Nice to see them win.

The Jockey Club of Canada will host the 39th Annual Sovereign Awards party to celebrate Thoroughbred racing in Canada and honor the Canadian champions of 2013 on Friday, April 11 at Woodbine in Toronto.
The celebration will include an opportunity to walk the Sovereign Award red carpet, followed by a buffet-style gourmet dinner and the presentation of the Sovereign Award trophies to Canada's racing champions of 2013.
"This year we are having a party," said Sovereign Award committee chair Stacie Roberts in a release. "We have booked a live jazz band to get people dancing as we celebrate the start of the 2014 Thoroughbred season in Canada. Even if you are not a finalist, you're invited to come and have fun and help us celebrate Thoroughbred racing in Canada."
This year's event will once again be held on the eve of the start of Canada's Thoroughbred racing season, with Woodbine slated to race the next day (April 12) at 1 pm (EST).
Tickets are $250 each and tables of 10 are $2,400. More information available via email to: jockeyclub@bellnet.ca
