To answer the last question, No!
Other Registries Support AQHA in Cloning Lawsuit Horse & Rider
Ever since last year, when a federal judge in Texas ruled for the plaintiffs and ordered the American Quarter Horse Association to register cloned horses, AQHA has challenged the decision through the court process.
The association has now has official support from other associations that register animals. On January 2, several groups filed an Amici Curiae (“friends of the court”) brief asking the Fifth Circuit to reverse the district court’s judgment and render a verdict in favor of AQHA.
The Amici Curiae group includes the following organizations:
• American Kennel Club • American Morgan Horse Association • American Paint Horse Association • Appaloosa Horse Club • Arabian Horse Association • The Cat Fanciers’ Association Inc. • The Jockey Club (Thoroughbred registry) • Pinto Horse Association • U.S. Trotting Association (Standardbred registry)
Where would you stand—“Yes” to registration of cloned animals, or “No”? What’s your reasoning?
