Love this! This first installment is the 50's.
Bullet Train presents Horse of the Year Newsreel: A ‘Ghost’ Story Paulick Report
All this week, leading up to Saturday’s 43rd annual Eclipse Awards, we’ll be looking back through time at the compelling history of the Horse of the Year award.
Sometimes, the choice is clear and unanimous, but other years, Horse of the Year voters have a tough call, and picking the winner has often been unpredictable. And occasionally, other factors – in addition to the results on the track – have influenced the final decision.
In this first installment of Horse of the Year Newsreel, we visit the 1950′s and the intriguing circumstances surrounding one of the great racehorses and sires of all time.
With help from Ed Bowen, president of the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and author of 19 books on racing, Scott Jagow tells the Horse of the Year story of the “Gray Ghost,” Native Dancer.

I love this series. This one is about Ack Ack and has great footage of the Hollywood stars that were so important to CA's early racing days. Check out Greer Garson in the winner circle!
