First foal of the year born at Winbak Farm
By Adelma Gregory-Bunnell Cecil Daily
CHESAPEAKE CITY — The first filly of the new year was born at Winbak Farm on Thursday morning.
The bay filly is the first foal from an unraced Christian Cullen mare named “Lilli Maid” and sired by Delaware stallion “Roddy’s Bags Again.”

Lilli Maid is a half-sister to “Western Expression” and “Little Michael.” The maternal family also includes “Gimmebackmybullets.” The sire stands at Winbak Farm of Delaware, which means the filly will be potentially eligible to race in the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Program.
“The early maiden mares start having foals in the first few weeks of January, but this one is a little early,” said Elizabeth Lewis-House, public relations manager for Winbak Farm. “We generally start the second or third week in January, but our busiest time is around March. Winbak produces more than 300 foals a year.” The public can submit a name for this filly by e-mailing elizabeth.lewis-house@winbakfarm.com
