Didn't groups in Turkey recently buy other US stallions? I thought I read that but don't remember the names. It seems Turkey and Korea want to expand racing and breeding.
After Market, a 10-year-old son of Storm Cat, has been purchased by the partnership of Hakan Yuceturk and Hakan Sabri Ozcan of Istanbul, Turkey.
The stallion who previously stood at Lane's End Farm as the property of Lane's End Stallions, Inc., and the After Market Syndicate, will stand at the Jockey Club of Turkey's National Stud in Izmit for a live foal fee of 8,000 Turkish Lira (about US$3,917).
A multiple grade I winner produced from the multiple grade I winner Tranquility Lake, After Market has sired Vanity Handicap (gr. I) winner Lady of Fifty and grade/group I winners in Panama and Mexico in his first three crops. He ranks in the top 10 cumulative on the list of third-crop sires by stakes winners.
"My partner and I are thrilled to be able to bring a stallion to Turkey with After Market's class and physical presence to the Turkish breeders," Yuceturk said. "He is an outstanding individual, with an excellent female family. He is out of the top class race mare Tranquility Lake, a multiple grade I winner of over $1.6 million dollars and a producer of multiple graded/group winners."
