I used to try to see how long I could smoke a cigar without the ash falling over it. You're a champ, nice going!
For what it's worth, Cuban cigars are no longer "all that" - you can get much better cigars from Honduras or Nicaragua.

Yeah since the Partagas factory is no longer, you're right. Cubans are just run of the mill. Nic has some beauties especially when blended by AJ Fernandez. If you see any Cubans with an "Official" box stamp from 2006, GRAB 'EM. Good year for rain and sun.

I know someone who visits from Germany for a week a year, he's allowed to bring two boxes of Cuban cigars into the country (for his "personal" use) They're good, but not really discernibly better than Central American cigars. I also get a few during my two semi-annual visits to Toronto, mostly because they're relatively inexpensive up there. But again, Honduras and Nicaraguan cigars are now better than Cubans.

Geo, actually there is a difference. Most of the Cubans are "smoother". By smoother I mean very easy through the nose and quite inhale-able through the mouth (if you go that way). A good percentage of the CA country blends are a little harsh but have more "flavor". Of course this is just my opinion.

These are all Cubans, except for The RyJ Gold labels (I think they're Mexican). This was from last spring, they're long gone now I don't like those Cuban Cohiba's. They smell like wet socks that were left in a gym locker for a few months. The Red Dot Cohiba's are pretty good, I think they're Honduran. Attachments:

To me Cubans are over rated.
I've become a Camacho,LFD,Perdomo,Davidoff smoker..
Perdomo is my "daily" smoke. LFD & Davidoff are my "special occasion" smokes. Camacho is my Casino smoke. Winter is here now I'm smoking 2/3 daily, down from 3/5 during Spring & Summer time

Cubans are overrated as far as price wise. A box or bundle of 25 usually costs me $300-$350. Actually I could care less if I pay $2 or $20, most of the $3-$4 cigars work for me. Pres, The Perdomo Champagne you sent me was really good. I only had one Davidoff but that was years ago. La Flor Dominicana's (LFD) are really good. Man, you smoke 2-5 cigars a day? You're the champ now. I rarely fire up before 4:00PM. The only time I have two in one day is when I have a superior buzz going. Now I got to get ready to go to Altria and test some cheap ass experimental ghetto cigars (Black & Mild). Hey, someone has to do it and it pays well too.

I couldn't get a "CHAMP" ash. A breeze came by and knock it off. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten another inch of ash but Churchills never hold a long one. Attachments:

OK Pete. I'm about to spark up The A. Fuente "Chubby". I won't hold you responsible since I had a few of these in the past and they were pretty good. FIRE IN THE HOLEAttachments:
