was he ever trained by baffert or oneil? had he ever raced at del mar? just asking. one of those three must be associated somehow. theres no way a saint like lopresti could ever have a horse break down under his watch, right?

When Lopresti hires a PR firm to speak for his breakdowns instead of nutting up get back to me

will do. and when every reporter and east coaster starts making these sort of assumptions like they do about the guys out here, and sullying their reputations, he very well may do just that.

all I know is lopresti is now averaging 1 break down and death a day. that's much worse then bobs 7 or so in an 18 month period.
just like the espn show.................numbers never lie!!

just showing how numbers and polls can be skewed to show anything you want. is my math not correct? its true, isn't it? at the current rate that he is now going, mr. lopresti will have 365 deaths by breakdown between now and nov.14th, 2014.
remember this kind of math and charts and polls next time someone starts arguing about whether someones approval rating is 41% today or 39% yesterday, or other trainers fatality rate over a certain specified time period is abnormal or not.

As usual wiz shows his "compassion" for others' misfortune.

remember that George next time a baffert horse takes a bad step or breaks down and you chime in. it goes both ways. hmmmm, selective memory AND selective compassion, huh?

wiz,
Nope, not selective. just about everyone on this forum is saddened when horses break down and have to be euthanized, just as much as most of us are saddened when horses die by mysterious causes.
LoPresti said Turallure was "like part of my family", he didn't just shrug his shoulders and move on.
How many horses have died of mysterious causes while under LoPresti's care? How many of his horses have died from injesting rat poison?

id don't know. I leave those kind of investigations up to the professionals. I don't claim to know or have an opinion on subjects like that. im not a track vet. I am saddened also when horses die. but I don't go making unfounded accussations or making up conspiracy theories like some do. in fact, I don't care. dead is dead, and once it happens, it doesn't matter. my job is to pick winners and make money doing it. when that is done, then and only then do I get to go pet the horsey on the nose and give him a carrot. ive also heard lopresti say the same thing about other horses in his stable. maybe he should take his business a little more seriously and less personal then. im sure its also a lot easier to feel that way about your horses when you train 10% as many horses as someone else. ive also never heard any of the trainers being accused of his horses dying from rat poison say that his horses weren't "part of his family". but some people don't feel the need to put their feelings out there for others to judge. not everyone needs to post their daily schedules or itineraries either. I guess some people just need and seek the approval of others more then some.

Turallure's injury and subsequent death was the result of a fractured leg during a workout, not a mysterious death in his stall or unexplained heart attack.
No one in their right mind could compare the two types of deaths.

Had this horse in the pick 4 breeders cup day, along with gio ponti and goldlikova on my ticket and got nipped at the wire by a 60/1 shot in court vision. Man I was pissed that day. Sad news indeed because he was a pretty good horse. I feel for lopresti because tbis horse was probably the next best horse in his barn.
