More than two years ago, then-90-year-old Santa Anita employee John Shear was seriously injured when he jumped in front of a loose horse, covering 5-year-old Roxy Key with his own body.
The girl was unharmed and Shear recovered from his injuries and returned to work at the Southern California racetrack. Recently, Shear and the now 8-year-old Roxy meet again, this time at the girl’s ballet recital, as reported by ABC
