BC Friday Picks:
Juvenile Fillies Turf:
The Euros look to be very strong in this spot. Chrisellium is gonna the pick. Took down a Group 1 last time out in the Fillies Mile at Newmarket and has looked great on the track at SA.
Dirt Mile:
I never quite know what to make of this race. I like to call this the "Reject Race" for those horses who either have distance limitations or are simply not good enough to compete in any of the major BC races (Classic, Turf, Turf Mile, Sprint etc). The fact that this is even a Grade 1 is a joke to me. But I digress. Goldencents is my selection here. He's tailor-made for this type of race. So, score one for the home team on this one!
Juvenile Turf:
This one seems pretty cut and dried to me. Bobby's Kitten ran lights-out last time at Belmont and he doesn't appear to have lost a step shipping out west for the BC. His sire, Kitten's Joy is gonna have a great two days IMO.
Marathon:
Please do not hold anything against me on this one because I don't have a strong opinion at all when it comes to this race. The "Misfit Marathon" as I so lovingly refer to it. I landed on London Bridge here simply because he has the pedigree to go the distance. Again...don't hold me to anything.
Distaff:
Royal Delta to make history with the first ever three-peat in this race. What has gone unnoticed about her loss to Princess Of Sylmar last time out in the Beldame is that while Princess was fully cranked for that race which was supposed to be her BC, Royal Delta's goal has always been the defense of her Distaff crown. I don't think Mott had her primed for her best effort at Belmont. She will be today and she has looked spectacular since she arrived on the grounds at SA. Look for her to turn the tables and likely end her career on a positive note and with legendary status.
Good day and good luck to all
