Gulfstream Park Receives Over 4,500 Stall Applications for Upcoming Meet Paulick Report Gulfstream Park announced today it received 4,523 stall applications for the 2,720 stalls available at Gulfstream and Palm Meadows during its Champions Meet. The Champions Meet, which begins November 30, will feature 63 stakes races, including 34 graded events, with purses totaling a record $10.75 million. Those applying for stalls included trainers Todd Pletcher, Bill Mott, Shug McGaughey, Nick Zito, Kiaran McLaughlin, Dale Romans, Michael Matz, Chad Brown, Mike Maker, Eddie Kenneally, Ian Wilkes, David Jacobson, Mark Hennig, Graham Motion, Eddie Plesa Jr., Ken McPeek, Pat Byrne, Tom Albertrani, Wesley Ward, Barclay Tagg, Mark Frostad, Kelly Breen, Marty Wolfson and Wayne Catalano. “We are pleased and honored by the response of so many great horsemen from throughout the country who want to winter at Gulfstream and Palm Meadows,” said Gulfstream Park President Tim Ritvo. “We’re looking forward to a great Champions Meet. Not only will we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Thoroughbred racing at Gulfstream, but we’re honored to be hosting the Eclipse Awards Jan. 18 for the second consecutive year. With our record stakes schedule, support from our horsemen and our great fans around the world, we’re excited about our upcoming meet.” Gulfstream Park is in the process of building new barns at the facility
