Florida Racing Wars Force Fasig-Tipton to Move Sale to Adena Springs Paulick Report
Fasig-Tipton will conduct The Florida Sale of Selected two-year-olds in Training for 2014 at Adena Springs South in Williston, near Ocala. The auction is set for Monday, March 24, 2014, with the under-tack show scheduled for Friday, March 21.
“The current racing situation in Florida has changed the dynamics of stall availability in South Florida for 2014,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. “As a result, we have reached an agreement with The Stronach Group to move from Palm Meadows and utilize the superb facilities at Adena Springs South for our 2014 sale. We will return to South Florida in the spring of 2015 and stage the sale at Gulfstream Park.”
“Our consignors and buyers have established The Florida Sale as the leader in the market for approximately 60 years,” Browning added. “In conversations with the participants who have been part of this success story, they have been extremely positive. We are excited about putting together a catalogue which will attract a broad base of buyers there.”
Nominations are now being accepted and inspections will take place during November and December.
