Trials for the Los Alamitos Winter Derby and Winter Championship are set for next weekend. Horses eligible to compete in Saturday’s Grade 1 Winter Derby trials include Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity runner-up The August Heat, PCQHRA Breeders Futurity winner Stel My Corona, three-time Grade 1 million dollar futurity finalist Fires Blazin and All American Futurity finalist Native Tea Rose.
Ageless superstars Rylees Boy (left) and Jess You And I are among the slew of outstanding older horses eligible to compete in next Sunday’s trials to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Championship. Rylees Boy will be making his first start since winning the Grade 1 Champion of Champions on December 15. He was crowned the national champion aged horse and champion aged gelding for 2012 by the AQHA earlier this week. The great millionaire Jess You And I could also compete in the Champinoship trials. He took part in his record tying fifth Champion of Champions last year. Other top older horses that could also race in the trials include 2012 Los Alamitos Super Derby winner Deniro, 2012 champion 3-year-old colt Hez Our Secret, two-time Grade 1 winner El Aguila Real and 2012 Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Championship winner Chivalry SR.
Champion of Champions winner Rylees Boy is schedule to race in Sunday's trials to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Championship. The 8-year-old gelding was named the AQHA champion aged horse and champion aged gelding. Rylees Boy will be joined in the trials by top stars like Southern California Derby winner Check My Thoughts, Charger Bar Handicap winner Tres Of Linda and more. For info call 714-820-2800.
