I just saw that the induction ceremonies for the Canadian Hall of Fame will take place on August 15. Among the inductees will be Secretariat. Even though he had only one race in Canada, it was a great performance, and I suppose contributing to his status is that his trainer and regular jockey are Canadian.
One wonders why it took 40 years after that race to finally get around to honoring him.

Is Todd Kabel in there? I know he was up for the Canadian Athlete of The Year once or twice but got snubbed.

No, Kabel isn't an inductee - a huge oversight as one of the winningest jockeys in Canada. Surprisingly Russel Baze is in, though!
