Flashback had a lot of fans earlier this year. Good news is he's working.
Flashback has first work back By Jay Privman DRF
DEL MAR, Calif. - Flashback, considered one of the best 3-year-olds in the country before being injured earlier this year, is back in training for trainer Bob Baffert. He had his first drill since returning on Monday at Betfair Hollywood Park, traveling three furlongs in 37.20 seconds.
Flashback, winner of the Robert Lewis Stakes in February, came out of his runner-up finish in the Santa Anita Derby in April with a knee chip.

I really don't understand all the fuss over Flashback. He hasn't really shown anythng - a maiden win, a "Grade 2" (aka allowance) win over three rivals and two losses at even money.

Back in the 1980s, I worked in the headquarters Crane Co., the famous valve and plumbing fixture company (I worked for the valve division, not the plumbing division), located on Park Avenue. On the first floor was a showroom where there were a bunch of bathroom displays. There even was one in the front window of the building (other tenants HATED the fact that there was a bathroom display on hallowed PARK AVENUE!)
Anyway, in 1981 Pleasant Colony, owned by the Chairman of the Board of Crane - Buckland Farm, won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.
When Summing beat Pleasant Colony in the Belmont, I went to work the next Monday and suggested a sales promotion - stuff the toilet in the window of the building with tote tickets, and bill it as "guess how much Belmont Stakes money was flushed down this toilet". You guessed it, they didn't appreciate my suggestion.

I'm a Flashback fan. He's a good looking colt and hopefully has healed and will come back racing better than ever.
Who knows what he might have done in the TC?
