Unbeaten Shanghai Bobby, an Eclipse Award finalist for 2-year-old male of 2012, breezed five furlongs in 1:01.42 over a fast track Jan. 13 at Palm Meadows Training Center in Florida. The workout, in preparation for his 3-year-old debut in the Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III) at 1 1/16 miles at Gulfstream Park Jan. 26, was the 12th fastest of 21 run at that distance at the track that day. Shanghai Bobby (Harlan's Holiday —Steelin', by Orientate ) is trained by Todd Pletcher and races for Starlight Racing, Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith. Among his victories are the 2012 Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), Foxwoods Champagne Stakes (gr. I), and Three Chimneys Hopeful (gr. II).
