Michele nevin. enters teaks north today in a 100k claimer after just running second in a G1 500k stk. this is a multiple G1 winner of 1.3 million who very well may have been one of the favorites in the sword dancer Saturday.he was winless over the course so obviously no track favoritism involved here. he has earned almost 300k this year alone so is in good form. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THIS HORSE TO BE IN THIS RACE other then they were trying to dump him off to someone else because he was not sound or fit to run. he runs last and never even picked up his feet. now I ask you this............. is she going to get chastised or called out for trying to DUMP this horse? if baffert had been the trainer everyone would be coming out of their skin accusing him of either running an unsound horse to get rid of him or else just not caring for and retiring a horse that had already been very prosperous for him.
just asking.

She just was! She is also not a trainer in the spotlight. As you said Wiz it's part of the game. However, the "leaders" and the award winners should set better examples. When they can - often they are probably juist following the owners direction. Remember this: www.thepetitionsite.com/1/trainer-of-the-year-runs-horse-to-death/Teaks North was claimed by Southern Equine. What do you (or anyone) know about them? (If the trainer had been Lukas we all know who would have been chastising!)

I believe Southern Equine is a group that sells "shares" or partnerships in their horses, kind of like Karakorum used to do before they went bust. Not sure but that's the way their website appears.

Nick Hines was/is some sort of advisor or tied into them somehow.

The question is, just what was Hollendorfer doing by sending one of his horses from California to Beulah Park to race in a $5,000 maiden claimer? Was he hoping she'd get claimed and just disappear? He certainly couldn't have said "that's what the owner wanted to do" (an excused too often used by trainers in similar situations), HE was the owner! Obviously it was so he could send the horse to the Ohio slaughterhouse auction just about 50 miles from Beulah Park.

If nick hines is involved, they better buy some padlocks and shut it down. Its bad enough he took mike moreno to the cleaners and guillot is following hines' lead.
