Portland Meadows and the Oregon HBPA Announce TB Owner/Trainer Incentive Program
Portland, OR – August 4, 2013 – The Oregon HBPA is sponsoring a new Thoroughbred Owner/Trainer Incentive Program that will give bonuses to Thoroughbreds that run at Portland Meadows from August 14th to September 22nd. The program begins with the Wednesday August 14th card and every Thoroughbred that starts will receive a $100 starting bonus between then and September 22nd.
$100 bonus per start is effective for all runners for the following days:
August 14, 18, 21, 25, 28
September 2, 4, 11, 15, 18, 22
If a Thoroughbred that starts on any of the August days comes back and runs on one of the days listed in September, then they’ll receive an additional $100 on top of the $100 bonus they receive for running.
“This starting bonus will definitely increase our average field size in August and September,” said Portland Meadows Assistant General Manager and Director of Racing Jerry Kohls. “The Oregon H.B.P.A. has really stepped up to help the racing program here at Portland Meadows.”
Sure Bet

$100 doesn't sound like a lot but it buys a lotta hay! anyone know - is field size a problem there? if a trainer/owner from aother state ships in, guess they receive the bonus also?
